Senior Packaging & Manufacturing Engineer

Job Duties: Lead design and development of packaging for brands of Zenith Home Corp and Maytex products including components, assemblies, and labels; identify, review and evaluate new packaging technology for application to current and future product designs; create novel concepts/design and prepare packaging specifications and associated engineering documents; develop packaging testing methods and direct validations based on ISTA standards and fully transfer new packaging to manufacturing; collaborate with manufacturing team to design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing packaging manufacturing processes; provide solutions for manufacturing improvement; perform packaging risk analysis to support new product development process in manufacturing and engineering development; write Engineering Changing Order/Notice for all packaging items and provide new/updated BOM (bill of material) or new process; support manufacturing production/inspection by using AutoCAD, ArtiosCAD die line and Solidworks 3D modeling.

Educational Requirements: Master of Science in Packaging/Manufacturing Systems Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.

Other Requirements: Sound knowledge of lean manufacturing and Kaizen concepts; strong packaging development & manufacturing systems design skills; familiar with ISTA standards and ERP system; proficient in CNC programming, AutoCAD and Solidworks 3D modeling.

New Product Development Associate

Zenith Home Corp., a growing organization, is recruiting a New Product Development Associate to join our team. Zenith is a well-established company located in New Castle, Delaware, within easy commuting distance from Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Southern New Jersey. Our company manufactures consumer products offered in most major retail stores in categories such as shower curtain rods, shower liners and rings; mirrored medicine cabinets; shower caddies; and wood, wire, or plastic shelving and storage units.

Description

Within a cross functional team environment, the New Product Development Associate will be responsible for executing both short and long term strategic category initiatives. He or she will develop, analyze, and execute tactical product line plans through gathering market data and managing product development from conception to completion. This person will also be responsible for creating and managing materials and information for key sales presentations and business reviews. This position reports to the Director of Product Development.

Position Responsibilities

  • Implements and executes product development strategies from concept through to execution
  • Communicates and leads category projects within a cross-functional team including Design, Sourcing, Marketing Services and Sales
  • Assists in the strategic business review process and creates product line plans in support of the top line strategy of the product category
  • Researches, analyzes and delivers competitive product analysis and consumer trend insights both formally and informally through field/store visits, online research and review of trade journals; utilizes data gathered to formulate plans for growth and expansion at both the sku and category level
  • Responsible for management of the product portfolio on a sku and category level to ensure profitability and sku rationalization including the assortment/product mix and refresh/replacement/drop strategies
  • Develops a deep understanding of customer specific nuances and requirements, including but not limited to: packaging, materials specifications, testing and retail targets
  • Efficiently interfaces with internal systems and team members in support of the progressive execution of projects and product launches

Desired Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-5 years of consumer products experience or related field
  • Able to effectively communicate both written and orally
  • Experience Designing for big box retail
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills are a must
  • Detail oriented; able to deliver impactful and accurate presentations
  • Must be able to work efficiently and effectively to ensure that deadlines are met with accuracy
  • Positive attitude with ability to creatively problem solve and quickly tackle internal and external obstacles
  • Strong analytical and financial skills; must have the ability to effectively evaluate information from both a micro and macro perspective
  • Solid business acumen
  • Proficient in the MS Office Suite
  • Familiarity with retail processes and structures (multiple channel tiers)
  • Experience designing for Bath or Kitchen
  • Home Furnishings experience is a plus (hard goods and textiles- manufacturing & logistics)

Jr. Sourcing Analyst

The Sourcing Analyst’s role is to be a liaison between Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Design, Planning, and our global vendors. This person will be responsible for all aspects of vendor and product management for our suppliers in both the US and abroad.  This is a salaried position reporting to the Product Development Director. 

Responsibilities

  • Providing analysis support in areas including:  Sourcing, qualifying, sampling, testing, costing, negotiating, vendor contracts, quality control, and freight/payment terms
  • Monitoring and reporting on vendor performance against key indicators
  • Expediting open projects, cost analyses, and ad hoc requests
  • Identifying problems and recommending solutions in all areas of vendor and/or product management
  • Freight forwarding analysis including both tracking and reporting costs and utilization
  • Review and analyze processes recommending changes to promote efficiencies
  • Maintain highest level of quality regarding timeliness, visual presentation, and accuracy

 Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Engineering or Business
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Sourcing or other field with data analysis background
  • Highly proficient in MS Office (Advanced in Excel and experience in Access is preferred)
  • Project Management skills

Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Zenith Products Corporation is seeking an Engineering Manager. Zenith is a well established manufacturing company located in New Castle, Delaware which is within commuting distance from Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Southern New Jersey. The Engineering Manager’s overall role will be to generate productivity improvements in a manufacturing and Distribution facility through implementation of Lean Manufacturing Techniques. Leading a team of Engineers and Plant Maintenance Staff to increase profitability and uptime.

We are looking for an individual that has the ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers to deliver products in and project in a timely and effective manner. The responsibilities are to include Manufacturing and Distribution operation through updated technology and processes. This individual should be process oriented and be an effective communicator in dealing with diverse manufacturing processes. Ideally the candidate will have a varied background in manufacturing, distribution and assembly processes.

Qualifications include:

Required

  • BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering field required
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • Minimum 5 Years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Management Experience leading a team of Engineers
  • Experience in sourcing and installation of Capital equipment to include process automation
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Must be self motivated, hands-on, and enjoy working on the shop floor mentoring plant personnel and support staff in implementing lean manufacturing principles.
